$180 Gone in Under 5 Minutes — Towing Scam at CVS on SW 8th St I’m putting this out as a warning because this is one of the most aggressive towing scams I’ve ever seen — and it’s happening right across from the Dollar Tree on SW 8th St. Let me be clear: the Dollar Tree is not the problem. The workers there are good, hardworking people. This isn’t about them. But that CVS at 7097 SW 8th St? That place is a trap. Here’s how they get you: • CVS employees fill the Dollar Tree parking lot with their own cars. • You show up, can’t find a spot, so you park in the CVS lot thinking it’s fine. • The second you leave the property — not even inside CVS — there’s a woman sitting off to the side, phone in hand, recording you. • A tow truck that’s been hiding around the block swoops in almost instantly. I got towed in under two minutes. The cost? $180. And while I was standing there stunned, I watched another lady get towed right after me. That’s back-to-back — $360 in less than 5 minutes. This isn’t random. This is a full-blown operation. They’re running up a check off unsuspecting people, especially working-class folks who don’t have the time or resources to fight it. This isn’t about protecting property — it’s about draining pockets. Do not park at that CVS. Not even for a minute. If you’re going to the Dollar Tree, find street parking or get dropped off. Don’t fall into the trap. They’re not playing with rich people — they’re targeting everyday people who are just trying to get by. Stay sharp. Spread the word.
